Edinburgh Zoo Lanterns

We spent a few nights in Edinburgh this week and on one of those evenings we went to Edinburgh Zoo to see the amazing Giant lanterns.

It was absolutely magical and the photographs here and on their website don’t do them justice. 

If you are in Edinburgh between now and 22nd February 2026 then it is worth checking to see what nights the lanterns are on and book a ticket.  We are RZSS members so got a slight discount but even at full price it would have been worth it.

We went back to the zoo later in the week, in the day time, and the lanterns are still nice to see in the day, but lit in the evening…stunning, magical, beautiful.
